I was so happy when Intuit contacted me about their Love A Local Business competition. I hadn't heard about it, and I think it's such a great thing they are doing by supporting local businesses. Can you believe it? They are awarding one deserving local business $25,000 each month!
One cannot live in an amazing, tight-knit community like Boulder without loving and supporting local businesses. Furthermore, I had my own film production company for four years and I know how much work goes into maintaining and building a small business! So the fact that Intuit is supporting all these hard workers is fantastic!
But let's not forget that still today I count as a small business. Just because my business is online doesn't mean that I'm not a small and hardworking business! I know that I am not alone in supporting local businesses, so as you all go about supporting small businesses please don't forget that the blogosphere and digital community also count!
I encourage all of you to go spend time on Intuit's Love A Local Business competition site, nominate yourself (if you have a local business) or vote for other deserving local businesses!

My first BlogFrog outing was a day to remember
A few weeks ago I attended my first Boulder Startup Week, which also marked my first official outing in the community as a BlogFrog Account Manager. It was an incredible experience!
I’ve always been a fan of networking and getting to know my community, so I couldn’t wait to go out and meet some of the companies and people I’d heard of.
One of my happiest moments was when I attended the Startup Women Yoga Brunch with my BlogFrog colleagues Holly and Lori. We started the day with an amazing yoga class, followed by a gluten-free breakfast. At the end of class I took a few pictures of myself wearing my BlogFrog t-shirt and doing yoga poses. I got to combine two of my passions!
